A New Era at Dior: Jonathan Anderson Appointed as Sole Creative Director

Dior is entering a new chapter. The 40-year-old British designer Jonathan Anderson has been appointed as the sole Creative Director of the iconic fashion house. From now on, he will oversee everything — from women’s and men’s collections to haute couture, prêt-à-porter, and accessories. This marks the first time since Christian Dior himself that a single creative mind will guide all of the brand’s lines.

“We have some very exciting news,” said Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior, in an interview with Vogue Business. “Jonathan Anderson will become the Creative Director of Dior — for both women’s and men’s collections. He will be in charge of haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. This is a very important moment for the brand.”

This appointment follows the recent departures of Maria Grazia Chiuri, who stepped down from her role as Creative Director of the women’s line in May 2025, and Kim Jones, who exited the men’s division earlier in January. Anderson was first named head of menswear in April, and now officially takes over the entire creative vision of the French fashion house.

Bringing all collections under the leadership of one designer is a return to the original model that existed during Christian Dior’s own time. Arnault explains: “This is a major step for Dior. It will bring greater cohesion in design, product, and communication. Our style will become more defined and recognizable. Of course, this decision presents a challenge — it requires coordination across many teams — but Jonathan is full of energy and ready to take on this responsibility.”

In his new role, Anderson will work closely with Dior’s in-house teams while also bringing in his own trusted collaborators — people he has worked with for many years. Arnault emphasizes: “We have the best talent in the industry — strong ateliers in haute couture, prêt-à-porter, and both men’s and women’s collections. And Jonathan will bring a team he deeply trusts.”

“We’ve been discussing Jonathan’s next move for years,” she added. “And there was always one brand that truly fascinated him — Dior. We believe this is the right moment for change. He is one of the most talented designers of his generation, with extensive experience within the LVMH group. He has successfully led large teams at Loewe, and despite being only 40, he has a clear vision for Dior.”
